My Worst Breakup Story....Missing Fiance

Prologue:
Setting: IOWA
Fade in, start this scene, enter little girl.
She me a boy very early in life, attended the same preschool and kindergarten...they became as close as children could be. When she moved away with her mother in the first grade, they were able to keep in contact for years, when she would come back to visit her father. They were best friends. In the 5th grade the boy became interested in girls, and he was never home any more.
In the 8th grade the girl moved in with her Father, and after a few days the girl and the boy's friendship picked up right where it left off. Chelsea and Jeff. Jeff dated the same girl until their 11th grade year, and I was there with him through the good and bad of it. And he was there for me through my lack of trusting guys, and therefore the lack of boyfriends.
In the 11th grade, Jeff became single again and our friendship strengthened. The summer before our senior year of high school, I was crowned Queen of our town's annual festival, and he was there for the entire celebration...all through the day and all through the night at the dance/party. We talked, we laughed, we danced, he jokingly wore my crown and sash....and then the song "Brown-eyed Girl" came on. I have very green eyes, and Jeff looked into them and sang "your my-y-y GREEN-eyed girl." For the first time, his heart sang to me, and my heart listened. In that moment, our relationship changed, I dont know why and I dont know how, but it did, and was an unspoken knowledge. The date was August 4th, 2001. When he walked me home that night we decided to spend MORE time together! And we did....everyday up until the 11th, we were not seen without the other in tow. On the 11th, he asked me to go to the movies ("Rush Hour 3") with him. At 9:55 PM we began dating ( I only know the time because he kept nervously looking at his watch). We fell in love for very good reasons: we supported eachother and cared deeply. At the time, I was a virgin and he didnt pressure me to lose chastity, but encouraged it. On our one year anniversary my first love proposed to me, and I of course said yes.
In our second year of college we decided to move in together with one of our mutual friends from high school. I kept postponing our wedding date because I wasn't ready, and although he was sad because he wanted to start a family as soon as we were done with school. The last words I heard from him as my fiance was "I would wait until eternity to marry you. I love you." And then he walked out the door for work, but never came home. A few desperate and tearful phone calls later, I learned that he had left me that night for a girl I introduced him to on the first day of school that year. A girl who I encouraged a friendship with, and who Jeff had gotten a job for had taken him from me. A month later I learned that she (Tara) was 6 weeks pregnant and they were engaged, for how long I didnt know. I blindly trusted Jeff for almost four years, and I guess at the end he decided to take advantage of that trust.
Epilogue:
In the summer of 2004 I moved to OHIO to start over. That summer Jeff and Tara got married. Their little girl was born that summer as well.
6 months later, Tara left Jeff for another man. Their divorce became final not long after.
I am in Love again for the first true time after Jeff, with a wonderful man named Josh.
I have seen Jeff once since my move to Ohio, and have realized his life was never the life I was intend to live. I wish him happiness.
I thought Jeff was my one true love for a long time after our breakup, but I have realized that he is my BEST WORST breakup story!
